Street Child United

The challenge

Street Child United were about to hold their first Street Child Cricket World Cup, in parallel with the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 at the word famous Lords Cricket Ground. They wanted to draw the UK Government's attention to the world's street-connected young people, some of whom had never travelled outside their home towns or even had a form of official identity, who were arriving in London to participate in the tournament.

The solution

A parliamentary launch with over 150 MPs and other policy influencers, which gave street-connected young people from across the world a global platform to speak and raise awareness for their rights.

  • Liaised with Parliamentary staff to book and organise the event space within the house of commons
  • Marketed the event to all MPs, Lords and other relevant policy influencers and civil servants
  • Organised the logistics of the arrival of the young people and VIPs
  • Produced briefing notes for the keynote speaker, Rt Hon Sir Desmond Swayne MP, co-chair of the APPG for Street Children
  • Managed the budget
  • Managed the event on-the-day
